Ayush Ostwal graduating from IIT Kanpur, Branch- Mechanical Engineering department as a Graduate (B.Tech) in 2020 has been placed as Data Scientist in HiLabs Inc..
a) Other companies that I was shortlisted for b) Analysis of available options (based on profile, growth, compensation, Brand Name, etc) I had given interview for JLR (Engineer trainee), Zomato (Data Science), VMock(Data Science), HiLabs(Data Science) ,ThoughtSpot and Blackrock. I was selected in Hilabs and Vmock for Data Scientist post. Both are IIT startups. HiLabs was offering more compensation and a better location (which I wanted). Profile wise both were same. Growth wise, HiLabs was growing at a much faster rate. Vmock is much more established and HiLabs have just launched their product in recent years.
I have done a lot of courses. I am sure every one does. But to revise all the courses that you mention in your resume is must. I have revised all my courses. I have revised all my projects and written all important points in a single sheet of paper. Same for internships. This was the main preparation of technical part. For HR section, I have prepared all my answers in advance and written them, modified them with each interview. I have also prepared all major puzzles and coding question from geek for geeks. Addition to this, I have solved a lots of problems in interview bit (42 days streak with 200 points daily). Before every interview, I have also prepared some about company. What it does? What was its growth. Etc
The complete process is very exhausting. On Day 1 I had interview in JLR and Zomato (of course both rejected me). I was totally lost. I had nor interview in day2 . But gathered some strength and started preparing for next interviews. Then suddenly I was called that I have shortlisted in extended list for 3 companies- HiLabs, VMock and ThoughtSpot. On the day I was placed I have given around 7 rounds of interview. Because each company has 3 interview (I missed 2 interviews for ThoughtSpot). At last I was selected in VMock and HiLabs.
